I teach private flute, clarinet, piano, and harp lessons in northeast Pensacola (UWF area). The studio typically has two student recitals per year, with opportunities to participate in scholarship competitions each spring. I'm a member of the Pensacola Music Teachers Association, so students are eligible to participate in those events as well. Virtual lessons are also available via a variety of online platforms, such as FaceTime or Google Duo.
My goal is to help students express their joy and love of music through their chosen instrument. This is done through the study of technique and standard repertoire, incorporating music theory, ear training, basic music composition, and music history. Students are encouraged and have opportunities to play together, both solo and in small ensembles. I also help prepare students for a variety of auditions and music experiences, including All-County, All-State, Solo and Ensemble festival, various Honor Bands and music camps, youth orchestras, and college and scholarship auditions.
