About

Monika Durbin studied music at The University of West Florida (Bachelor of Arts, Music Performance), The University of Southern Mississippi and Pensacola Junior College (Associate of Arts, Music). She is a past winner of the Junior/Senior Woodwinds division of the Mississippi Music Teachers Association competition. She especially enjoys performing chamber music. Monika has provided musical programs for organizations such as the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra Guild, Artel Gallery, and performed live on WUWF radio (88.1 FM). She has played woodwinds for the Pensacola Little Theatre, and flute, piccolo, and alto flute for the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, and the Choral Society of Pensacola. She appears as a guest artist (flute and harp) on two CDs by Celtic band Sweet Prospect: Cold Frosty Morn and Lark Song.

Monika teaches private woodwind, piano, and harp lessons from her home studio in northeast Pensacola. She is librarian for the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra and regularly performs at assisted living facilities, hospice, children's clinics, and more as part of their Beyond the Stage initiative.
